Two injured, including 10-year-old boy, after car is hit by train

It happened in northeast Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.

Two people have been injured after a car-train crash in northeastern Minnesota.

The collision happened on East Stark Road in Thomson Township, Carlton County, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Responders to the scene found a 41-year-old woman and a 10-year-old boy, both of Thomson Township, suffering from injuries.

They were taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth by Cloquet Area Fire District crew members.

At this stage, there are no updates on their conditions.

It's also not clear at this stage how the collision came to happen, though the incident remains under investigation.
