Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, a 57-year-old man from Silver Bay, was uninjured.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety says there have been 282 fatalities on Minnesota roads in 2019 so far, compared to 294 at the same time last year.
