Two men die after being found shot in south Minneapolis

It followed a crash in the Phillips neighborhood.

Police are investigating the deaths of two men who were found with gunshot wounds in the early hours of Monday.

A Minneapolis Police Department spokesman said Metro Transit police responded to a two-vehicle crash at East 28th Street and 14th Avenue South in the Phillips neighborhood just after 2 a.m.

When officers got to the scene, one of the cars was empty and in the other a man was "obviously deceased" from a gunshot wound.

Officers then found another man suffering from gunshot wounds in the middle of the road about a block away. Lifesaving measures were carried out but he died at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the victims have not yet been identified.
