Two robbed at knifepoint while walking in Eden Prairie

Police are on the lookout for two suspects.

A man and woman walking in Eden Prairie were robbed and assaulted with knives on Tuesday evening.

The robbery happened on the south side of Anderson Lakes Parkway around 8:40 p.m., when the man and woman were approached by two men.

The men assaulted them with knives and demanded money, before fleeing the area on foot.

Both the victims required treatment at Hennepin County Medical Center, though their injuries are non-life-threatening.

The suspects are described as follows: 

– Black male, 6-feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a black hat, black sweatshirt and blue jeans.

– Black male, 6-feet 5-inches tall, 220 pounds, wearing a black hat, dark blue sweatshirt and black pants.

The police department is advising residents to always be aware of their surroundings and travel in "familiar, high-traffic areas with good lighting, particularly after dark."

It also advises carrying as few valuables as possible, and avoid using phones so you're not distracted.

"This type of crime is not common in our community; however, it is always important to remain vigilant about personal safety," the police department said.
