Two women stabbed in front of 3-year-old child at Roseville motel

Two young women were stabbed multiple times at a motel in Roseville, while a 3-year-old child was in the room.

The incident was reported at 6:45 a.m. at the Motel 6 at 2300 Cleveland Avenue, where a 24-year-old woman, her child, and her 20-year-old friend had spent the night.

The older woman's ex-husband, a 23-year-old man from Eden Prairie, showed up at the hotel and ended up stabbing both women multiple times before fleeing.

The 3-year-old child was not injured in the attack.

Police were called after witnesses saw one of the women running from the room while covered in blood.

Officers searched the area and found the ex-husband a few blocks away. He was taken into custody.

Both victims were taken to hospital but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"At this time, there is no threat to the public and there is no indication that any additional suspects were involved," Roseville PD said. "The case will ultimately be presented to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for charging."
