A 2-year-old boy who was the subject of a water rescue at a golf course in Brooklyn Park died in a hospital weeks later.

The death of Isaac Fadeyibi, of Brooklyn Park, has been confirmed by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office, which said he died at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis on Oct. 20.

His cause of death was determined to be complications of drowning, which follows an incident at Edinburgh Golf Course in Brooklyn Park on Sept. 25.

Police had received a report he was missing in the area of the golf course that morning, and told golfers to be on the lookout for the child.

FOX 9 reported that Maurice Kumenda was among the golfers who found the boy in a pond near the eighth hole, with police quickly getting to the scene to perform CPR.

They managed to restart his breathing, but he was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, with injuries that would ultimately prove fatal.
