A 2-year-old boy has been killed in a tragic accident at a farm in Minnesota.
The accident was reported at 2 p.m. Sunday at a farm in southeast Roseland Township, about 14 miles south of Willmar.
Kandiyohi County deputies learned the boy had been struck by a skid steer loader, and had been taken to Olivia Hospital by his father.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
Skid loaders are a common vehicle on farms known for their versatility, though they can come with risks when not used safely.
This Star Tribune report in 2015 noted that in the 11 years since 2004, some 16 farmers and their family members have died in accidents involving skid loaders.
