Tyson Foods Inc. is recalling more than 132,500 pounds of chicken nuggets because they may contain plastic.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service made the announcement Tuesday saying the recall is for some bags of fully-cooked panko chicken nuggets.

The recalled products were produced on July 18, 2016 and have expiration dates of July, 18 2017.

According to the news release, the 20-pound bag was only shipped for institutional use in Pennsylvania. The five-pound bags were shipped to retailers all across the country, though.

There have been a number of complaints from people who reported finding foreign materials in their chicken nuggets.

Tyson identified the material as plastic, saying it ranged in size from 21mm length and 6.5 mm in diameter.

It's believed the plastic came from a hard plastic rod used to connect a transfer belt.

If anyone has either of the recalled products, they are urged to return the product to a store or throw it away.

This is considered a class I recall, meaning "this is a health hazard situation where there is reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."

So far, officials say there haven't been any injuries or illnesses linked to this product.
