For a 14th consecutive year, the University of Minnesota Crookston has been named one of the top regional colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News. This year’s ranks Crookston in the top three out of nearly 400 colleges in the region.

Carleton College and Macalester College are among the top 100 schools in the United States, according to Forbes. Carleton came in 31st and Macalester ranked 78th. Fifteen other Minnesota colleges and universities were named on the annual list of America’s 650 Top Colleges.

Minnesota is home to some of the best national universities and liberal arts colleges, according to the 2013 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges rankings. Carleton College in North Field was named the 8th best national liberal arts college. The magazine also recognized the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

U of M's Carlson School takes top spot for job placement

Bloomberg Businessweek ranked the U's Carlson School of Management as the top school for job placement. The magazine says 97 percent of Carlson's MBA graduates had job offers within three months of graduation.

College of Sports Medicine ranks Twin Cities No. 1 in fitness health

For the second consecutive year, the American College of Sports Medicine has ranked Minneapolis-St. Paul as "the healthiest, fittest metropolitan area in the United States." The rankings are determined by four factors: preventive health behaviors, levels of chronic disease, access to health care, and community resources and policies that support physical activity.
