Update, 11.35 a.m.

August Piro has been found safe, the University of Minnesota Police Department tweeted.

Original story

A University of Minnesota-Twin Cities student has been reported missing, with police issuing a public appeal for information.

August Piro, 18, was last seen at 3:30 a.m. when he left Bailey Hall on the St. Paul campus, just off Cleveland Ave. N.

He's described as being 5-foot-11, 180 pounds and with blue eyes. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said he was wearing a black winter jacket, jeans and black and white converse shoes.

Temperatures were frigid in the Twin Cities last night, with the National Weather Service having issued a wind chill advisory, after gusts combined with below zero temperatures to make it feel like it was below 25-30.

Piro, according to the university's records, is a Liberal Arts student and enrolled for the spring of 2017. He came from Devon Preparatory School in Pennsylvania, where he graduated this year according to the school. His hometown is listed as Downington.

Anyone with information should call the University of Minnesota police department on 612-624-2677.
