'Unwanted' man dies after fall in north Minneapolis

A man was arrested in connection with the death, but has since been released pending further investigation.

Police are investigating the death of a man in north Minneapolis who had suffered an apparent fall.

The Minneapolis Police Department says it was called just before 1 a.m. last Wednesday to the 3200 block of Sheridan Avenue North to a report of an "unwanted male" who was down after a fall.

The person who called it into the police referred to the man as someone they did not want present at their location.

When responders arrived, the man was in "medical distress" and was admitted to North Memorial Hospital in a critical condition.

He has since died in the hospital, prompting police to open a death investigation.

Another man who was interviewed and booked into Hennepin County Jail has since been released pending further investigation.

The identity of the victim and his cause of death will likely be revealed in the coming days.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
