Investigators are reviewing an "item of interest" found on Saturday at Keller Lake Park in Maplewood that may be related to the disappearance of 30-year-old Kira Trevino, Fox 9 reports. However, police wouldn't elaborate on what the new clue was or how it might be connected to the case.

KARE 11 says nearly three-dozen volunteers showed up Sunday morning to resume the search for Trevino's body.

Jay Steger, the father of the missing St. Paul woman, is helping out in searches in the Twin Cities this weekend, according to the Pioneer Press.

Kira Trevino has been missing since Feb. 22, and her car was found in a Mall of America parking lot Feb. 25. Police arrested her husband, 39-year-old Jeffrey Trevino, the following day, after investigators said they found large amounts of blood evidence in the Trevino's home and in Kira Trevino's car.

Jeffrey Trevino was charged by Ramsey County authorities with second-degree murder on Feb. 28.

Steger, who is from Marshfield, Wis., told the Pioneer Press that he was angry with his son-in-law and angry with himself, "because I wasn't there to help her."

Steger -- who said his daughter's disappearance is "destroying" his family -- also revealed that his daughter sent him a message on Facebook Jan. 6. In it, Steger said, Kira Trevino said, "I haven't told mom yet, don't say anything, but I may be looking for my own apartment" and that she wasn't sure was was going on her life "right now."

Kira Trevino and Jeffrey Trevino were married since 2010. According to court records, the Pioneer Press reports, Kira Trevino confided to her mother that her husband was controlling and trying to monitor her activities.

Police established a tip line for the case March 1, and within the week got more than 50 leads, but no breakthroughs.

Jeffrey Trevino is being held on $1 million bail. A Ramsey County judge Thursday denied the man's request to have the bail lowered to $100,000.

In addition, prosecutors argued that he was a flight risk after monitoring a jailhouse call, where Jeffrey Trevino allegedly asked his family to bring him a briefcase from under his bed that contained his passport -- a briefcase that had already been confiscated by police.
