UPDATE 8:30 P.M.

St. Paul police say that 7-month-old Chanelle Jones has been located and is unharmed.

The missing girl was dropped off by an "unknown male," according to St. Paul PD, at North Memorial Urgent care in Minnetonka just before 6 p.m.

She has been identified by her mother via a photo, and was then taken to Children's Hospital in St. Paul.

Her father, Jamal Jones, is wanted for domestic assault and stalking, and is not in custody.

Original story

The St. Paul Police Department has re-issued a missing persons alert for a 7-month-old girl.

At around 3 p.m. Thursday, about an hour after saying Chanelle Jaliyah Jones was missing, police said she was found safe and her father was taken into custody by Metro Transit Police in Minneapolis

But at 4:20 p.m., police tweeted that they were re-issuing the alert because the person located in Minneapolis is not Jamal Jones, the girl's father.

"We are concerned for the welfare of Chanelle Jones and still need to locate her," police said in the updated alert. "If anyone knows where Jamal Jones is with Chanelle please call 911."

The original story from Thursday is below.

The public's help is being sought to help find a missing 7-month-old child who is believed to have been taken after her mother was assaulted in St. Paul.

Investigators believe Chanelle Jaliyah Jones of St. Paul is with her father, 21-year-old Jamal Lamarr Jones.

It is believed that he assaulted the child's mom before taking her.

Their direction and method of travel are not known.

Anyone with information on where they may be is asked to call the St. Paul Police Department at 651-291-1111 or dial 911.
