UPS is holding hiring events in the Twin Cities on Saturday and Sunday to fill 1,000 positions ahead of the holiday season.

The shipping company says it has a mixture of seasonal and full-time positions to fill across a variety of disciplines.

These include:

  • 472 Driver helpers
  • 300 Package handlers
  • 73 Delivery drivers
  • 24 Feeder drivers
  • 27 Personal vehicle drivers
  • 17 Supervisors

"Seasonal and part-time jobs have long served as a foot in the door to a career at UPS," a company spokesman said.

"In fact, 35 percent of the people UPS hired in the past three years for seasonal package handler jobs stayed with the company on a permanent basis after the holidays."

The hiring fairs will be held this weekend at the following Twin Cities locations:

  • 555 Opperman Dr, Eagan, MN 55121
  • 8501 Valley Forge Ln, Maple Grove, MN 55369
  • 3312 Broadway St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413
  • 901 Canterbury Rd, Shakopee, MN 55379
