A Chevrolet Malibu involved in the hit-and-run that injured an Edina High School student waiting to board a bus last Thursday has been located.
The City of Edina announced Tuesday that the car from the Jan. 23 hit-and-run was found in Mankato thanks to multiple tips from the public and through the work of Edina investigators.
No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate the case.
The hit-and-run happened around 8:15 a.m. when the student was about to get on a bus that had its stop arm out and lights flashing on France Ave. near Halifax Ave. S.
The driver of the Malibu allegedly moved into the bike lane to the right of the bus and hit the female student, then fled the scene.
The girl was taken to a hospital but fortunately wasn't seriously injured.
"I don't know how you can rest with your conscience. I don't know how you can sleep tonight. Shame on you," said the student's grandmother of the driver of the vehicle, in an interview with KARE 11.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Edina PD by calling 952-826-1610.
