A vehicle on fire on Highway 7 in Minnetonka blocked traffic Wednesday morning.

According to the Minnetonka Fire Department, two vehicles collided on eastbound Highway 7 just west of the Interstate 494 interchange shortly after 7 a.m.

The crash led to a fire, which was "quickly extinguished," the fire department told Bring Me The News. Minnesota Department of Traffic Safety's traffic cameras showed the crash, which produced a large plume of smoke.

The driver of the vehicle that was on fire was evaluated at the scene but wasn't transported to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The crash forced the closure of Highway 7 for a short time so crews could battle the blaze.

The Minnesota State Patrol and MnDOT assisted with clearing the scene and spreading salt on the roadway to remove any slippery spots, the fire department said.

The accident and fire are under investigation.
