No one was injured when a vehicle crashed through the wall of a bar and grill in St. Paul Friday night.

The Cherry Pit Bar & Grill, located at 735 White Bear Ave. in St. Paul's East Side, took a direct hit from an SUV around 2 a.m. Friday, May 17. The store's Facebook page says that everybody inside – and the driver of the SUV – were uninjured.

But Nicole Cherry, the owner, explained to the Pioneer Press that it was a close call for her security guard.

“My security guy had just gotten done putting the stools up at the table when she went through,” Cherry told the St. Paul newspaper. “He was very lucky.”

Photos from inside the business show chairs strewn across the floor and a gaping hole in the wall where the SUV hit. There's also security footage of the moment of impact

Cherry noted to the Pioneer Press that the woman's vehicle had a mechanical issue, and that it wasn't a case of drinking and driving.

"Once the vehicle is inspected we will have answers and thankful no one was injured," the Cherry Pit's Facebook page notes.

The Cherry Pit Bar & Grill was able to open for business on Friday afternoon after cleaning up the mess.
