Veterans Day homecoming in Minnesota

It will be a Veterans Day to remember for the families of some soldiers in Minnesota's Army National Guard who have been serving overseas. The Associated Press reports that 18 of the soldiers in the 147th Human Resources Company are returning home this Veterans Day.

It will be a Veterans Day to remember for the families of some soldiers in Minnesota's Army National Guard who have been serving overseas. The Associated Press reports that 18 of the soldiers in the 147th Human Resources Company are returning home this Veterans Day. They have been stationed in Kuwait and Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom since last year.

Another 27 soldiers from their company are scheduled to return next month.

A Veterans Day tradition continues in Stillwater

Leo's Grill and Malt Shop in Stillwater handed out more than 200 free meals on Veterans Day, the Pioneer Press reports. It is the 5th year owner Cory Buettner has invited veterans and other military personnel to order anything on the menu at no cost. This year, he is extending the free meal offer from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, the federal government holiday. "It's our way of giving back to the community because they support us all year," Buettner said.
