Victim falls down stairs during robbery at U of M parking ramp

The victim was reportedly approached by two suspects, who took the victim's backpack before running off.

The University of Minnesota Police Department is seeking information about a reported robbery on campus Monday.

According to a timely warning posted Tuesday, the department responded to the robbery near the University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank after the victim was reportedly approached by two suspects in a parking ramp. The two suspects grabbed the victim’s backpack, causing the victim to fall down the stairs, before running off.

The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The alert describes the first suspect as a dark-skinned black male in his early 20s, bald and approximately 5’7”.

The second suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male also in his early 20s and approximately 6’0” to 6’1”.

This is the second alert posted by UMPD since the end of the 2018-19 academic year. On Wednesday, the department sent out an alert of a reported robbery occurring near the West Bank light rail station.
