Victim fatally shot during dispute in Minneapolis is identified
The man who was fatally shot during a dispute in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday has been identified as a 20-year-old from Columbia Heights.
Mohamed Hussein Hassan died at the hospital of a gunshot wound to the torso at 3:20 a.m. on July 17, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
He'd been shot in the area of 6th Street North and Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis. The police department said their preliminary investigation indicates Hassan and another person got into a dispute that "erupted into gunfire" and Hassan was hit.
Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection to the fatal shooting.
Hassan's death was the 48th homicide in Minneapolis this year.
