The family of Eric Rivers says they removed him from life support Wednesday night at Hennepin County Medical Center, KARE 11 reports. He'd been critically injured Sept. 27 at Accent Signage when an employee who'd just been fired went on a shooting rampage. Rivers' passing brings the death toll to six, plus the gunman, who shot himself.

The Star Tribune and Pioneer Press on Thursday morning reported that Rivers, 42, of St. Paul, had died after his life support was removed, citing a release from the hospital that said he "passed away peacefully last night."

Fox 9 reported that Rivers's wife wrote on his CaringBridge.org site that "it's painfully evident that the damage to his brain is severe and something that no one can recover from." Rivers was the production manager at the company, Fox 9 reports.
