Chason Chivers Jr., of Coon Rapids, was killed when he was truck by a Northstar commuter train in the north metro around 6:45 p.m. Friday evening.

The incident remains under investigation by local police and the Metro Transit Police Department.

There were about 50 passengers on the train at the time of the collision. At this stage, it's believed that Chivers Jr. was walking along the tracks with another person, and was hit as he tried to cross.
