Officials have identified the victim and shooter in a murder-suicide that happened in St. Paul on Saturday

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman who was fatally shot as Bao Yang, 39, of St. Paul, St. Paul police said on Monday. Yang is believed to have been shot by Doua Por Lao, 39, of St. Paul, before he killed himself.

The murder-suicide happened on the 1900 block of Montana Avenue East, with police finding Yang and Lao outside the house at 8:30 a.m.

Yang's death is the eighth homicide in St. Paul in 2021, the Star Tribune says. Half of the city's homicides this year have had a domestic component.
