Victims identified in Spring Lake Park shootings that left 1 dead, 7 injured

Police have identified the victims of a shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning that left one young man dead and six others injured.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Chai Yang, 19, of St. Paul, was killed in the shooting that unfolded just after midnight in the parking lot outside the Dala Thai Restaurant and Banquet Hall, in Spring Lake Park.

There were six others injured in the shooting, none of whom have injuries that are considered life-threatening.

The other victims are: 

  • Ger Yang, 29, of Pine City.
  • Keng Moua, 19, of St. Paul.
  • Chimua Lor, 22, of St. Paul.
  • Lee Vang Lor, 38, of St. Paul.
  • Jann Her, 34, of St. Paul.
  • John Thoa, 26, of St. Paul.
  • Kou Yang, 37, of St. Paul.

The sheriff's office says at this stage there are no suspects in custody.

However, they do believe that there are bystanders who have recordings of the incident, and want anyone with video to send it to detectives at RS-CID@co.anoka.mn.us.
