Roseville Police have identified the two men involved in a murder-suicide that happened Thursday afternoon, and say an affair may have led to the incident.

Police say 44-year-old Cheng Vang from Roseville shot and killed his wife’s co-worker – 33-year old Joseph Yang from Brooklyn Park – before turning the gun on himself, WCCO-TV reports.

Police were called at 4:15 p.m. on a report of a shooting, as the Star Tribune recounts, with two men down in a parking lot outside 1975 W. County Road B2, a few blocks west of Rosedale Shopping Center.

The co-worker Yang was found dead in a rear parking lot of CPI Card Group. The shooter Vang died about 6 p.m. at Hennepin County Medical Center. No one else is being sought.

The Pioneer Press reports that surveillance cameras reportedly show Cheng Vang and his wife Yong Vang, 37, arriving in a Toyota FJ Cruiser near the loading docks outside CPI Card Group around 4 p.m.

Moments later, Joseph Yang pulled up beside them in his Audi.

Both Yang and Yong Vang worked at the Roseville business, which manufactures financial, commercial and identification cards.

Minnesota Public Radio reports Vang may have concocted a ruse to lure Joseph Yang to a parking area behind a building that housed several businesses.

Police say Yang was shot multiple times while holding some paperwork, according to MPR, which may have been a pretext by Cheng Vang to draw Yang to the meeting. Cheng Vang then shot himself.

Following the shooting, police said Yong Vang came to her husband's aid. She wasn't injured, and police don't consider her a suspect or accessory to the killing.

Yong Vang also worked at the business. KSTP-TV reports police say there were phone calls between the three people to plan to meet behind CPI Thursday. Investigative interviews revealed that Cheng Vang may have believed Yang and his wife were having an affair and that the meeting was a way to lure Yang to a familiar location.

A semi-automatic pistol was found near Cheng Vang's body. Police said he bought the firearm legally in May 2013.

The Vangs lived in Roseville. Yang lived in Brooklyn Park.
