Video: Huge fire breaks out at Minneapolis apartment building
A huge blaze broke out at an apartment building in Minneapolis Saturday evening.
The fire was reported at a three-story, four-unit apartment building on the 700 block of Olson Memorial Highway, with Minneapolis Fire Department said flames were coming from the 2nd and 3rd floors, as well as the roof.
The building had been evacuated prior to firefighters arriving. The fire was knocked down on the 2nd and 3rd floors but due to the damage to the roof, firefighters had to evacuate themselves and switch to an "exterior/defensive attack."
Video of the fire was shared with BMTN by William O'Reilly.
The fire had been reported at around 3 a.m., with the fire department saying it had been brought under control by just after 4:30 a.m.
The building had sustained extensive damage however.
