Video shows attack on Minneapolis bus driver

The incident was captured on video that has since gone viral.

A Metro Transit bus driver in Minneapolis was assaulted on Tuesday, with the incident captured on video that has since gone viral.

The driver of the Route 5 bus was attacked by a black man wearing a blue t-shirt at the Emerson and 15th bus stop in the Near North neighborhood on Tuesday.

One of the passengers on the bus, Cyncere Davis, recorded the attack on her phone and later posted it on Facebook, which you can watch here.

It has since been re-shared by other users, with one of the videos being viewed more than 160,000 times as of Thursday morning.

It shows the bus driver being punched, kneed and kicked by the man, who was with another man wearing black, while another passenger laughs in the background.

It's not clear what motivated the attack, but Metro Transit says it was unprovoked.

Metro Transit told BMTN the driver was treated at Hennepin County Medical Center for cuts and bruises and has since been released.

It is now being investigated by Metro Transit police, who are asking for help finding the suspects.
