More than 6,000 miles away, the uniform for one member of the Free Syrian Army includes apparel from a Minnesota high school.

A video from LiveLeak.com added on Feb. 23 shows a sniper wearing a "Cooper Hawks" sweatshirt shooting through a hole in a wall.

The Star Tribune spoke with Tim Palm, who handles the Robbinsdale Cooper High School apparel, and said it looks like the sweatshirt is one of theirs.

How does clothing from a high school in New Hope make it all the way to Syria?

Clothing in poor condition or in excess quantities that is donated for sale in charity-operated second-hand stores in the United States is on occasion shipped off by the ton for distribution overseas through an intermediary.

It’s not unusual for popular athletic team logos from any number of American colleges and pro franchises to show up in locales around the world, according to the Star Tribune.

Cooper Principal Michael Favor sent a voicemail to school families alerting them of the report and says the video is not in anyway connected to the school.

The two-year civil war in Syria has killed more than 70,000 people and destroyed many of the country's cities.
