No one was injured and there were no evacuations necessary, but a Friday night train derailment in the southwestern Minnesota town of Cottonwood left quite a mess.

Cottonwood Fire Chief Dale Louwagie told BringMeTheNews the derailment caused grain to spill from several of the cars.

Louwagie said there were about 20 cars that derailed on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Track. He said the cause of the derailment is still unknown.

According to KSFY, the initial call came into Lyon County at 6:29 p.m. Friday evening.

Cottonwood is a town of about 1,200 about 15 miles north east of Marshall.

Cleanup is already underway.

Here is video of the train derailing.
