Datone Jones has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, the team announced Tuesday.

Jones, a 2013 first-round draft pick by Green Bay, started his career as a defensive end before switching to outside linebacker last season.

As we noted in our story about Jones on Monday, he could move back to defensive end in Mike Zimmer's 4-3 base defense and provide depth on the edge as Brian Robison gets older.

Jones led the Packers in quarterback pressures last season.

Jones is the third free agent to sign with the Vikings, joining offensive tackles Riley Reiff and Mike Remmers.

Here's what the Vikings said about Jones in a press release.

"Jones, the 26th overall selection by the Packers in 2013, brings four years and 59 games (seven starts) of NFL experience to the Vikings. The Compton, California, native played on three NFC North title teams in Green Bay and helping the Packers to two NFC Championship games. In 2016, Jones made a career-high four starts and registered 30 tackles (20 solo), one sack and two passes defensed in 15 games. The UCLA product played college football with Vikings teammates Anthony Barr, Kai Forbath, Eric Kendricks and Kevin McDermott."
