Walker rescued after being swept away on flooded trail in Bloomington

She was able to cling to a tree and call for help.

A woman who attempted to walk down a flooded trail in Bloomington needed saving on Wednesday. 

According to Bloomington Fire Department, the woman attempted to walk down a "trail covered with fast moving water and was swept off the trail." A rescue crew arrived and found her clinging to a tree, where she was able to use her cellphone and call 911. 

The woman was evaluated by medics and then refused additional assistance and left in her vehicle. 

The fire department says the incident happened along the Minnesota River at the end of Old Cedar Road.
