Warrant names doc who prescribed meds for Prince; investigators revisit Paisley Park

Law enforcement authorities say a Twin Cities doctor prescribed medications for Prince twice last month, including the day before the star was found dead at his home and studio, Paisley Park.

A search warrant allowing investigators to seize Prince's medical records says Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg told detectives he gave Prince prescriptions on April 7 and April 20 but does not specify what drugs he prescribed.

The warrant was obtained by KSTP and by the Los Angeles Times. Neither was able to reach Schulenberg Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for North Memorial medical system tells the Star Tribune Schulenberg used to work at their Minnetonka clinic but is no longer employed there.

In a sworn statement asking a court for the warrant, Carver County detective Chris Nelson wrote that Schulenberg told investigators he'd also run some tests on Prince. The doctor went to Paisley Park to deliver the results on April 21, which was the day Prince died.

Investigators return to Chanhassen

Meanwhile, law enforcement returned to Paisley Park Tuesday evening as part of their investigation into Prince's death.

The Carver County Sheriff's office announced on Twitter that they were returning "as a component of a complete investigation."

WCCO says about a dozen vehicles entered the compound in Chanhassen and that federal agents were part of the group.

An autopsy was conducted the day after Prince's death but results have not yet been released. The sheriff's office said then investigators did not suspect foul play or suicide.
