Big Boi's third solo album, Boomiverse, is due out this summer, and to get us ready he's promoting the first single "Mic Jack" with the fury of a thousand suns.
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Big Boi didn't have the track's featured artist Adam Levine with him. But as a treat, he brought longtime collaborator Sleepy Brown – of Organized Noize fame and, fun fact, co-writer TLC's legendary "Waterfalls" – for a cool twist on the track's groove.
It's great to see Big Boi this excited about playing new music again, including a Big Daddy Kane-esque moment of circling the stage while the DJ scratched.
We don't know much else about Boomiverse, save for the other new track that dropped last week in his Killer Mike and Jeezy collaboration "Kill Jill," which also features Japanese humanoid vocaloid Hatsune Miku. No word yet on an official release date, or other guest fictional characters of artificial intelligence.
