Sentencing for Derek Chauvin in the murder of George Floyd is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday. Prosecutors have asked for 30 years in prison for the former Minneapolis police officer, who will be in normal clothing for the hearing.

Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill will announce the sentence, and his reasoning behind it, after hearing victim impacts statements from friends and family of Floyd.
