Watch live: Gov. Tim Walz announces COVID-19 vaccine changes

Vaccines will be made available to all adults from Tuesday.

Gov. Tim Walz will provide his latest COVID-19 update at 11:30 a.m., when he will announce that all Minnesotans aged 16 and over will be eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine from Tuesday, Mar. 30.

The move was announced Thursday and comes ahead of a rapid increase in the supply of vaccine doses over the coming weeks.

The change could not have been timed better, given that Minnesota is currently facing a rise in COVID-19 cases driven by the more contagious B.1.1.7 variant, which has health officials saying the state is in a "race" to get as many as vaccinated as possible before the virus takes hold again.
