Gregory Ulrich has been charged with second-degree murder and four counts of attempted murder after being accused of walking into the Allina Crossroads Clinic in Buffalo and opening fire on employees.
An update to the case is being provided at 11:30 a.m. in the Wright County Justice Center, with Sheriff Sean Deringer and County Attorney Brian L. Lutes scheduled to speak to reporters. You can watch the news conference live here:
A criminal complaint details the minutes that passed between the time Ulrich walked into the clinic at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday and the time he called 911 at 10:58 a.m. telling police to back off so he could surrender. During those six minutes, he targeted Allina employees with a handgun and set up two explosive devices, charges say.
Ulrich fatally shot 37-year-old medical assistant Lindsay Overbay and wounded four others. Per the criminal complaint, three of the victims remain in critical condition in Twin Cities hospitals.
A victim who was shot in the back of the leg has been discharged but will require surgery to remove the bullets.
