A man was saved in St. Paul on Sunday after finding himself stuck on a cliff face 100 feet above the ground.

The incident unfolded just before 2 a.m. on the bluffs at Wabasha and Shepard Road.

The man was found stuck with no way of getting down, with rescue crews arriving to find him on a sheer ledge.

He was unable to make it back up because the small piece of wire they'd found stretched from the top of the cliff to where the man was stranded was too hard for him to grab onto and climb up, according to KARE 11.

A member of the St. Paul Fire Department's Rescue Squad 3 rappelled down the cliff and was able to carry out a safe rescue, lowering him to the bottom of the bluff.

The man in question was able to leave the scene without injuries.

Here's the view of the bluffs from Shepard Road.
