Making his television debut last night on NBC's Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Portland rapper Aminé made quite the statement. With an elaborate string section backing him, his late night rendition of "Caroline" was specially tailored for the occasion, but not just in how it sonically sounded.

Aminé altered the final verse to reflect the post-Trump climate in America. Calling election day "11/9 - a day that we all regret" and stating Trump made "this country hate again," it was an unexpected and impactful coda to one of the year's best televised rap performances.

Aminé had his full hometown support at his back last night, as Portland packed into the famed local spot Century Bar to watch his performance.

Aminé's current tours sees him only playing New York, Los Angeles and Portland before the end of the year.
