Tired of the cold?

An end could be in sight – well, maybe. It's Minnesota after all.

Snow is moving into Minnesota Friday night and Saturday, but a mid-February warmup is on its way to Minnesota next week.

The National Weather Service says much of Minnesota could see between 1-2 inches of snow Friday night into Saturday. The snow is on the leading edge of some warmer weather, which could bump high temperatures into the mid 20's by Saturday across the Metro area.

KARE 11 reports some areas of southern Minnesota along the I-90 corridor could see around 3 inches of snow by Saturday morning.

A second round of snow could make a mess of the Monday morning commute, according to KARE.

But after a January filled with news on the "Polar Vortex" and a frigid start to February, KARE 11 reports the warm up isn't far off.

According to KARE, by Tuesday and Wednesday the high temperatures could approach 40 degrees in parts of the metro area.

Those warmer temperatures could persist through a good portion of next week. The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures of 36 on Tuesday, 37 on Wednesday and 36 on Thursday.

WCCO has a slightly different timeline for the warmer temperatures, but like the others the WCCO forecast shows temperatures warming up. They predict a high temperature of 41 degrees on Monday with the high pushing 40 again on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Whether or not it's a permanent warmup we'll have to wait and see. The March through May 90-day outlook from the National Weather Service shows southern Minnesota can expect about normal temperatures for the period, while northern Minnesota is still likely to see colder temperatures for the next three months.
