The fourth annual Mankato Marathon is this weekend.

KEYC reports that more than 4,100 runners have signed up to run in the event on Saturday, the certified marathon gives runners a chance to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

The marathon itself begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday on the campus of Minnesota State University in Mankato, it will finish downtown Mankato near the Verizon Wireless Center, on Riverfront Drive.

Near the finish line, that is where one Courtland couple plans to say their "I-do's." The Mankato Free Press reports that Rachel Nachreiner and Steve Page are running in the half marathon together, and they plan to get married at the end of the race.

At the start of the last mile of the race, Nachreiner's father, and one of her children and both of Page's children will join the couple. The group will run and finish together to preserve the tradition of the father walking his daughter down the isle. Nachreiner's other child, a 3-year-old boy and 30 members of the wedding party will join them at the finish line.

The couple chose the unique ceremony because they feel it represents their relationship. They met through friends, and realized they really enjoyed working out together. They ran their first half marathon together in St. Cloud in September.

There are a lot of activities planned for the whole weekend of the marathon, in Mankato.
