A man has been arrested and booked into jail following a late-night shooting in Bloomington that killed a woman and seriously injured a 12-year-old girl.

The shots were fired just after 11 p.m. on the 8300 block of 15th Ave., followed by police arriving at the scene to find a woman dead inside a garage and a man yelling inside the home.

As officers were attempting to communicate with the man, they were alerted to two other victims – a 12-year-old girl and a 29-year-old woman – who were on their way to a hospital with gunshot wounds. Both were shot in their front yard, which Bloomington PD spokesperson Mike Hartley says "is on the same block as the deceased victim."

The 12-year-old was shot in the upper body and is in critical condition. The 29-year-old victim suffered gunshot wounds to her lower body and is in stable condition. Both are being cared for at HCMC.

The man inside the house then fired multiple shots, with one officer returning gunfire. Hartley said the man "eventually was taken into custody and was uninjured."

Police believe the man had a domestic relationship with the woman who was killed.

The identities of the suspect and victims have not been released. No further information is currently available.
