A Wells Fargo bank executive from Charlotte, N.C., died unexpected Wednesday while on a business trip to Minnesota, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Anne Doss, 56, died apparently from natural causes, according to preliminary findings by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Doss was reportedly staying at the Sofitel hotel in Bloomington when she died.

Her death is still under investigation by the medical examiner.

The executive's husband, Herbert Doss, told the Observer Thursday that he had spoke with her Tuesday night as she was going to sleep, and she sounded fine.

Herbert Doss said his wife's death came as a shock because she "was in perfect health" and "very into exercise."

Wells Fargo said Anne Doss was the head of the company's personal and small-business insurance division.
