Police have confirmed that an additional victim turned up at a hospital Monday night following a shooting outside a north Minneapolis bar Sunday morning, bringing the number of people injured in the gunfire to seven.
Another new development is that one of the victims has died, according to Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson John Elder. KSTP reports that the person who died was a man, aged in his 20s.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation just before 2 a.m. Sunday on the 200 block of West Broadway Ave. On arrival, police were informed that victims had been taken by private transport to area hospitals.
Three victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, two were transported to North Memorial Hospital and one victim was found a few blocks from the scene before being taken to HCMC.
"Due to the severity of some of the victims, detectives from the Homicide unit Responded out to the scene as did the personnel from the Crime Lab," a release from police said.
Investigators determined that a fight broke out inside a bar, with the fight moving outside before shots were fired.
Suspects fled and no arrests have been made.
