UPDATE 3:10 P.M.

Interstate 35E is open again following a nearly two-hour closure in the southbound lanes at the Forest Lake split due to multiple accidents.

UPDATE 2:20 P.M.

One lane of westbound I-94 has re-opened at Rogers after the earlier crash involving two semi-trailers, but it's expected to stay at one-lane for at least another 3 hours.

UPDATE 1:30 P.M.

Interstate 35E is now being closed southbound at Lino Lakes, just after the Forest Lake split, due to multiple accidents at Thursday lunchtime.

Most of the action seems to be around the overpass over 80th Street in Lino Lakes, with multiple vehicles reportedly involved.

All traffic is being diverted to I-35W.

It's the second major interstate closure of the day, with I-94 closed westbound in Rogers after a crash involving two semi-trailers.

As of 1:30 p.m., I-94 was expected to re-open within a half-hour.

11 A.M.

Interstate 94 is closed westbound near Rogers after a semi-trailer crash.

Traffic cameras appear to show that the trailer has spilled some of its load at Exit 205 for Minnesota 241.

Images also appeared to show the semi pulling it, was at one point uncoupled from the trailer and off the road.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation said at 1 p.m. that the scene is expected to take at least another hour to recover, as traffic backed up on the interstate.

Westbound I-94 traffic must exit at Hwy. 241 and use other routes.

There are multiple crashes affecting traffic in the metro area and beyond right now as heavy snow falls in Minnesota.

Minnesota 284 is closed in both directions between Waconia and Cologne because of a crash that led to downed power lines, that's also expected to take 3 hours to recover.

Meanwhile this happened earlier in southeast Minnesota.

Other crashes are being reported on roads including Hwys. 100 and 62 and Minnesota 280 in the metro.

Things are only expected to get worse as the snow keeps falling and commuters make their way home this afternoon.
