The president will be in Rochester this afternoon.
Publish date:

For the second time this year, President Donald Trump will be in Minnesota.

The president will land in the Land of 10,000 Lakes on Thursday ahead of a rally in Rochester in the early evening.

It comes after the president visited Duluth this past June.

Here's what you need to know about Thursday's visit.

Who's he here for?

It seems that he'll be showing support for at least two Minnesota candidates ahead of this November's elections.

Before he arrives in Rochester, MPR Reports the president will be attending a $10,000-per-couple fundraiser for GOP Senate candidate Karin Housley, who is going up against Sen. Tina Smith in this November's elections.

Housley is expected to join Trump on stage at the rally in Rochester too. And with the rally being held in the 1st Congressional District, you can also expect an appearance from candidate Jim Hagedorn, who is going up against DFLer Dan Feehan in CD-1.

The 1st District is one of four swing seats in Minnesota ahead of this November's elections.

Hagedorn will be flying on Air Force One with the president between the Twin Cities and Rochester ahead of the rally.

What's his schedule?

Here's a quick look at the schedule for the day:

1 p.m. ET – President Trump departs Andrews Air Base in Maryland for flight to MSP.

2:30 p.m. CT – The president lands in the Twin Cities.

2:45 p.m. – President arrives for a roundtable at the InterContinental Hotel at MSP.

3:50 p.m. – President speaks at joint fundraising committee reception.

4:45 p.m. – Air Force One takes off from MSP, landing in Rochester at 5:20 p.m.

5:45 p.m. – President Trump arrives at the Mayo Civic Center.

Anything else?

Yes, if you're in Rochester prepare for there to be some disruption on the roads as the president makes his way too and from the Mayo Civic Center.

There are also likely to be some delays to flights from Rochester as airspace is cleared to make way for Air Force One's arrival in Rochester and departure, lasting between 5-8:30 p.m.
