Looking for something to do on Christmas Day or have to run out and grab that forgotten menu item?

Compared to other U.S. federal holidays, Christmas tends to have the most business closures, Epoch Times notes, but there are a few places open Thursday.

Here's a breakdown:

Banks: Most, if not all, major branches are closed in Minnesota.

Convenience stores/gas stations: 7-Eleven (with eastern Wisconsin locations) and QuickTrip (locations in Iowa) are open, reports note. Call for hours on other convenience stores. Most gas stations are open.

Grocery stores: Most major super markets are closed.

Gyms: Generally closed. KARE 11 says LA Fitness and the YMCA are closed, other facilities like Snap Fitness are open, but don't have staff present. Life Time Fitness reopens in the afternoon on Christmas Day.

Libraries: Most are closed, the Star Tribune notes.

Movie theaters: Open. Several Minnesota theaters will be playing "The Interview," which Sony Entertainment had canceled after hackers made threats.

Pharmacies: Generally open, including Walgreens and CVS, International Business Times says.

Post offices: Closed. No regular mail service.

Public agencies: State, local and federal offices are closed.

Public transportation: Generally running, but on a limited schedule. Metro Transit will largely follow the Sunday schedule, with a Saturday schedule on Dec. 26, unless otherwise noted.

Restaurants: Most restaurants are closed Christmas Day. KARE 11 reports that Buca di Beppo in Minneapolis is open Thursday. Some fast food restaurants, including McDonalds, have limited hours, the Epoch Times says. Starbucks is also open.

Shopping: Most malls are closed Christmas Day. Big box stores like Target, Best Buy and WalMart are also closed, the Epoch Times says.
