Wild assistant coach Scott Stevens is resigning after just one year behind Minnesota's bench to spend more time with his family.

General manager Chuck Fletcher told Wild.com, "We thank Scott for the hard work and dedication he provided our team this past season."

"I would like to thank the Minnesota Wild for the great opportunity they gave me," Stevens added. "From ownership to the coaching staff and players, it was a fantastic experience."

Last year, head coach Bruce Boudreau added Stevens to his staff where he coached the blue liners.

Prior to joining the Wild, Stevens was an analyst for NHL Network. He also spent time as an assistant and co-head coach with the New Jersey Devils.

Stevens was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007. He spent 22 seasons in the NHL and 13 with New Jersey where he helped the Devils to three Stanley Cup Championships.

Michael Russo of the Star Tribune notes, the Wild have not started looking for a replacement.
