Willmar woman hit by transit bus suffers serious injuries

The woman was hit by the bus on Friday morning.

A woman was seriously injured Friday morning when she was struck by a bus in Willmar. 

Willmar Police Department reports that the Central Community Transit bus turning left from Willmar Ave. Southwest to go north on 1st Street struck a 52-year-old woman who was crossing the street around 6:40 a.m. 

The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported by Willmar Ambulance Service to Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment. 

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash and the driver, a 75-year-old man from Willmar, was not injured. 

The crash remains under investigation.
