A 16-year-old girl died and two other 16-year-old girls were injured in a single-car crash Friday in southeast Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver – one of the 16 year olds – was traveling northbound on Hwy. 76 when she lost control of the 2005 Buick Lasabre and left the roadway.
Sophia Allena Moe of Winona was a passenger in the vehicle and died from her injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol says.
The other two girls were taken to Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin for treatment. It's unclear how severe their injuries are.
The crash happened on the north side of Houston, a small town in southeast Minnesota, located about 25 miles south of Winona.
