A Wisconsin man with seven previous DWIs is now facing charges for his eighth offense after being arrested while parked next to a sheriff's office.
The 49-year-old man from Shell Lake, Wisconsin, was arrested by a Wisconsin State Trooper just after 2 p.m. Sunday.
He was found parked near the entrance of the Burnett County Sheriff's Office in Siren, Northwestern Wisconsin, and was found with all of the doors and hood of his vehicle open.
The Wisconsin State Patrol said its trooper "observed that the driver of the vehicle ... showed signs of impairment."
"A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that [the suspect[ was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance," it added.
He has been arrested and is now awaiting charges for driving while under the influence.
Bring Me The News does not typically name suspects until they have been formally charged with a crime.
